{"id":1187,"date":"2022-12-31T21:52:09","date_gmt":"2023-01-01T05:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sacpsr.org\/?page_id=1187"},"modified":"2022-12-31T21:55:30","modified_gmt":"2023-01-01T05:55:30","slug":"2022-contest","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sacpsr.org\/index.php\/essay-contest\/past-contests\/2022-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 High School Scholarship Essay Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PSR\/Sacramento congratulates the winner of our 2022 High School Scholarship Essay Contest, which was open to all high school seniors in Sacramento and surrounding counties.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The prompt for this year&#8217;s contest, chosen by a vote of our members, was a statement written by the late American journalist, William Greider, in his 1992 book, <em>Who Will Tell the People: The Betrayal of American Democracy<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center\">\n<p><strong>\u201cAmericans cannot teach democracy to the world until they restore their own.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n<h4>$15,000 in scholarships were awarded. The winners in this year\u2019s contest are listed below.
